They are welcome with open arms. Almost Famous have dreams of going places and we will not give up until we do. So whenever you hear or see a date where Almost Famous will be performing , come and check us out ,to see what we’re about. We would love to hear from the people on how they feel about what we do and what they feel we should do to make us better. I’ve asked one of the members how they feel about the group and what are their dislikes and likes about the group. Piggy one of our older members said , “I enjoy the team. My likes are we get to perform, my dislikes are that we have no uniforms. I get along with everyone on the team and I feel like if we all stay committed and get along, we will reach our goals and become famous. Personally I feel the same way. So if we stay committed and keep doing what we do, we will reach our goal. Who knows maybe someone will notice us and give us the opportunity to change our name from Almost Famous to Famous. So again thanks to everyone who believes in us and who’s there to support us.

Almost Famous, the dance team that is at the Boys & Girls Club of Freeport & Stephenson County, Illinois, is a mixture of children ages 10 to 17. Almost Famous is a group of children who love to dance. We will be doing all kinds of dances from Hip Hop to Gospel Dances. Not only do we dance, but we will be doing drills and steps. Almost Famous is choreographed by Shovontae Ishmon and  Lonyea Fane.  Our plans with these children are to encourage them to keep doing what they love, to put into their heads that no matter what anyone says you can do whatever you put your mind to, never to give up. The kids in Almost Famous are kids who love dancing and performing in front of crowds.  I plan on working with these kids as long as they want me to. Not only are we a dance team,  we’re a family inside and out of the group. We would like to thank Tyree Sanders for working with us and not giving up on us. We Appreciate everything she has done for us. We would like to let everyone know that we accept anyone from the ages 10 to 18. We are willing to work with anyone who wants to dance and  wants  to learn.
