Story by: Destiny– Age 10

Tumbling is a very fun sport and it is interesting. Our tumbling teacher , Mr.Toni,  teaches us lots of stuff like how to do backflips. He also teaches us different stretches before we tumble. One of them I learned is the butterfly and several  different arm stretches.  I am  learning how to  do a backflip. Tumbling also is a good sport for people who want to be a cheerleader now or in the future. One of the things I like about tumbling is that you can just be yourself and like what you’re doing. If you like to flip, why don’t you join tumbling.

The Boys & Girls Club of Freeport & Stephenson County on October 7th, 2008 took this Pink Campaign to Freeport High School. As one of their mentors is a breast cancer survivor, we wanted help promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We had members of  SMART Girls hand out Pink Ribbons and Candy on Monday, October 7th at Freeport High and asked that all students support Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing pink or wearing pink pins on the next day. We collected names in a scrapbook for all those who wore Pink or a pin. We thought it was a success, there were more than 90 signatures in our scrapbook.
